Visitors whilst in Queensland.

Whilst we were on our holiday, a blogger friend and her husband came to stay in the Apartment block where we stayed.  It was wonderful to meet them both for the very first time.  What a cheerful, happy couple.
You can visit her blog, Diane Adventure before Dementia here..

Photos taken on our 'night' out.

We two ladies.

The Spit, Mooloolaba, Sunshine Coast.

The Spit is located in Mooloolaba on the Sunshine Coast.  It's easy to find with a lovely beach.  The surrounding area is not crash hot for a holiday place.

A Marina is not far from the Spit, and that blue building is part of Underwater World where by there are creatures of the sea housed there.

Around and about!

A collection of photos taken around and about the Maroochydore area.  Some taken from the balcony where we are staying at Picnic Point in Maroochydore, Queensland. We have been here for just over 4 and 1/2 weeks and leave at the weekend to drive down to Melbourne, Victoria to catch the ferry home back to Tasmania, Australia.

This holiday is the one we had been waiting for, having changed it 5 times due to my father's illness, then his death at aged just over 90.  It's been a very restful holiday, having time to think things through and sort things out.

Plenty of Pelicans about.  Some of them sit on top of the pole that holds two lights near enough opposite to where we are staying.

You can just see that pole where the Pelicans sit.

Men and their toys, their Jet Skis.

The houses, husband and wife plus their children live in them.

Apartments where people like us stay. I expect one or two people may live in them.  There is a height limit on the Sunshine Coast for the buildings, but I believe the Council is thinking of lifting it if the rate payers agree.

Marcoola, Sunshine Coast, Queensland

We went for a drive a day or two ago and dropped into a few beaches on the way home, one being Marcoola.  It's early spring and some people are out sunbaking or walking along the beach, even a truck is taking in the view.

Up on the bank something has taken their eye.

The Bird Lady

We have arrived on the Sunshine Coast in the State of Queensland after taking the wrong turn, but that's only a minor thing.  Going to somewhere that's not intended often turns out to be a blessing.

The Apartment we stay in over looks the water and everyday there is a lady that comes, sits herself down on a picnic table and feeds the Rosella Parrots. She times her visit about 4pm and leaves just after 5pm after cleaning the mess on the table.  Sometimes people stop and talk to her.  Last year she did that same.

The Lady and the Rosella Parrots. I hope the colours of the Parrots are fairly visible and the photo was taken some distance away.

At last!

It's holiday time once again and finally after 5 attempts this year, my husband and I are travelling to the Sunshine Coast of Australia for 6 weeks.
This will be the first holiday that I haven't had to phone either of my late parents each day whilst away, or wondering how they are getting on.
Our youngest son, his wife and their 3 little children will continue to live in our house until we return.  Hopefully I will be able to visit blogs and post to mine whilst on holiday, I will enjoy doing it.

The mileage for the trip one way is about 2,450km (1,522m).  Of course if we divert it's longer and more mileage.
We go across from Devonport to Melbourne via the Spirit of Tasmania (the ferry), this trip on the sea takes approximately 10 or 11 hours. We eat on board, go to our cabin and sleep as it's a night sailing.  We stay at Motels which are lovely and clean, most being modern. We eat all our meals out and are both tired come bedtime.  Then up early the next morning for a days drive again until we arrive.

This photo would have been taken when I was about 4 or 5 years of age. My mother used to make most of my clothes right up to when I was 16.
